Marketing for Notaries · Québec
Your clients ask ChatGPT first. Be the answer it points to.
Imagine Geneviève, a notary with a small practice in Lévis. Here’s what an Essential partnership would look like for her, step by step, and what she would get every year.
The Starting Point
People find Geneviève by chance.
Her files come from real estate brokers, a few lenders and word of mouth. Her clients are happy. But when a family needs a will or a protection mandate, they don’t ask a broker. They search, or they ask ChatGPT, and the answer rarely names her.
It isn’t an expertise problem. It’s a visibility problem.
Her website lists her services in a single paragraph. She has no time to write, and isn’t sure what a notary is allowed to say online. So she says nothing.

What We Would Do
What we’d look for
People don’t search for “a notary.” They search for their situation: settling a parent’s estate, writing a will after a separation, buying a first home together. And more and more, they ask an AI assistant first. Those tools answer with sites that explain things clearly. So Geneviève needs a page for each situation she handles, and plain, general answers to the questions families ask, the kind an AI assistant can quote and point to.
The real opportunity
Most notaries list the same services in the same order. The opportunity is the situation Geneviève handles better than anyone nearby. Maybe it’s blended families. Maybe it’s farm transfers, or estates that have been stuck for a year. Finding that is the first job. Everything else is built on it.
The Process
The bloom unfolds in order.
-
Phase 01
Clarity
- A two-hour Business Clarity Session to find her strategic angle
- A look at what people search for, and what AI assistants answer, in her area
- A Brand Persona in her own words: precise, human, never intimidating
-
Phase 02
Strategy
- A site organized by life situation: estates, wills and mandates, buying a home
- A calendar of questions, one situation per newsletter
- Website copy that is general, accurate and easy for Google and AI tools to read, reviewed by her
-
Phase 03
Launch
- A 5-to-8-page website goes live, usually within 2 to 4 weeks
- The first newsletter goes out
- The first posts go up on LinkedIn and Facebook
-
Phase 04
Momentum
- A new strategic page every four months, one situation at a time
- A 30-minute strategy call every three months to keep what works and change what doesn’t
- An analytics report twice a year, in plain language
Where It Starts
Every partnership starts with a two-hour Business Clarity Session. For Geneviève, it’s where we would find the files she wants more of, and the families who need exactly her.
That insight becomes her Brand Persona: the message, the words, the situations she wants to be known for. The website, the newsletter and every post are written from it, and she reviews each one before it goes out.
The Website
A site that answers before they pick up the phone.
Five to eight pages: one for each situation she handles, what to bring to a first meeting, how fees work, and an FAQ in plain words. General information, never advice on a specific file. Structured so Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT can understand what she does, and where. Mobile-first, fast and secure.
The Newsletter
Every three months, a question answered clearly.
One issue every three months, with four short articles: is a will made at home valid, what a protection mandate covers, what happens when there’s no will. Every article also lives on her website, so each issue works for her search rankings, and for the AI assistants people now ask first.

The Social Posts
Plain answers, a little at a time.
Four posts a month on LinkedIn and Facebook: a common myth, a document to keep in a safe place, a question families ask. Clear and calm. The kind of post a broker sends to a client who’s about to buy.

Statement
Launch an engaging website that clearly communicates your expertise, helps the right clients find you online, and turns visits into booked appointments.
The Content Ecosystem
Every piece of content reinforces one thing.
The newsletter keeps her in mind for the next family event. The posts clear up one confusion at a time. Each new page answers one more situation people search for, and gives AI assistants one more clear source to cite. Together, it all says the same thing: for this situation, in Lévis, Geneviève is the notary who explains it.

Good Questions
Questions notaries ask about marketing.
How do I get my practice to show up in ChatGPT answers?
There’s no switch to flip. AI assistants tend to cite sites that answer a question clearly and are easy to read. A page per situation, written in plain words, with your name, your area and your expertise stated clearly, gives them something to point to. We can’t promise a mention, but without those pages there’s nothing for them to find.
Can a notary’s website answer legal questions?
It can explain them in general terms: what a protection mandate is, how an estate is settled, what to bring to a closing. Advice on a specific situation stays for the meeting. That line keeps the content useful and within the rules of your profession.
Is a newsletter worth it for a notary?
Yes, because your work follows life events. A short issue every few months keeps you in mind when a client’s parent gets sick, a couple separates or a friend buys a house. Those moments rarely come with a search; they come with a name someone remembers.
